Adriel Rüfenacht is a musician, composer and producer living in Switzerland.
He starts his musical training at the age of 7 in Santa Fe, Argentina. Soon after, he enters the children's orchestra of his conservatory as a violin player and, some years later, he gets in the youth orchestra in the same institution. By that time, he starts playing other instruments by himself.
Since the age of 13, while he continues his classical training, he gets interested by popular and modern music (folk, rock, pop, tango...) and he starts playing with different groups and ensembles. He goes on tour to different countries playing music for dance companies and with chamber orchestras playing tango and folklore music. He also gets called as reinforcement for professional orchestras.
Later on, he performs with rock/pop groups as well and he starts arranging for his old -and new- ensembles.
In 2005 he finishes his teaching degree in the conservatory of Santa Fe, and he leaves for Paraguay hired by the orchestra "UniNorte", where he plays symphonic repertoire, operas and ballets.
Soon after he decides to continue his musical training and career in Switzerland, the land of his ancestors, and he leaves for Lausanne in 2007. Once there, he discovers the jazz and attends the University of Music Lausanne (HEMU), gets his Bachelor Degree in Jazz Violin first and his Master Degree in Composition and Music Theory later. During this time, he studies with Emil Spanyi, Pierre Audétat, Christine Sörensen, Vinz Vonlanten, François Lindemann, Pierre Blanchard; and he attends master classes and/or shares the stage with names such as Gil Goldstein, Benny Golson, Richard Bona, Randy Brecker, Mike Mainieri, Pat Metheny, Marcus Miller, Charles Lloyd, Lee Konitz, David Liebman, Bob Mintzer, John Abercrombie, Marc Copland, Joey Baron, Christian Jacob, Erik Truffaz, Nik Bärtsch, among others.
